Plains Regional Medical Center was one of 17 employers in the state nominated by New Mexico Guard and Reserve service members to receive the 2010 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom award, according to a news release.
Nominated employers demonstrated support by providing continued benefits, differential pay and family assistance, the release said.
A national selection board made up of senior defense officials and business leaders will select up to 15 recipients of the award and announce the winners this summer.
