Flying J Wranglers to perform in Portales
Combining traditional holiday music with a Western twist, the Flying J Wranglers will take to the stage in order to perform a benefit concert.
Ruidoso based, the group spends its summers performing at the Flying J Ranch and at the Spencer Theater in Ruidoso, according to a Clovis/Curry County Chamber of Commerce press release. The rest of the year is spent touring and recording.
The band was founded 24 years ago by group member James Hobbs, according to the group’s Web site. Rounding out the band are Hobbs’ wife Cindy, the group’s main vocalist, Roy Black, an acoustic bass guitarist, Randy Jones, a multi-instrumentalist, and Corinna Ripple, a fiddle player.
Proceeds from the performance will go toward the Miss New Mexico and Pioneer Days Rodeo Pageants and scholarship funds, according to the press release.
