Cannon Triathlon — The Cannon Triathlon will begin at 8 a.m., Saturday at Liberty Pool. Participants will compete in a 500-meter swim, 10K bicycle ride and a 5K run. Prizes will be awarded to top finishers. Information: 784-2466.
Water outage — The Chip Shot Dining Room at Whispering Winds Golf Course will close August 28-29 due to a water outage. Normal hours resume on August 30.
Retreats and picnics — There will be a Chapel Parish Picnic 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Aug. 29. at the chapel. The Chapel will host an Air Commando Family Retreat Sept. 5. Information: 784-2507
Commissary case lot sale — More than 330 items will be available during the commissary case lot sale Sept. 17-19.
Club council wants you — The Cannon Club Advisory Council is looking for members. Council members meet once a month to discuss the degree of member satisfaction, make suggestions for new products and services, discuss house rules, hours of operation and the general business operation of the club. Hope and Heart Run — Clovis will host the “Blakely’s Hope & Hearts Run,” a 5k Run/Walk and Kids’ Fun Dash Sept. 18 at Ned Houk Park. The event supports the Missing GRACE Foundation whose goal is to provide resources and support for families that have experienced pregnancy loss, infant loss, infertility or adoption challenges. There will be a silent auction to raise funds for the organization as well as prizes for the teams that raise the most money and individual prizes for the runners as well.
